COMMON PROBLEMS

Note: below are some suggestions applicable only and exclusively to CORSA RACING KART chassis; remember that not all chassis perform and react the same way and chassis from other brands may require a total different set-up.

Remember tyres are best when new and could play a key-role in getting your correct set-up !!!

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDY
The kart does not want to turn into the corners
Understeer too much rear end grip (the balance is out) Move front track out

Mount the front torsion bar (in chassis where applicable)

Lift the chassis at the front

Increase caster

Move the seat forward

Mount a softer rear axle

Check toe out (start with 1-2 mm. in dry conditions and 5/10mm in wet conditions)
The kart does not turn out of the corners
Understeer, too much rear end grip (the balance is out) Move front track in

Mount the front torsion bar (in chassis where applicable)

Raise chassis at the front

Lower the chassis at the rear

Increase caster

Move the seat forward

Loosen or remove seat supports

Mount a softer rear axle

Check toe out (start with 1-2 mm. in dry conditions and 5/10mm in wet conditions)

Loosen the bar of the rear bumper

Lower tyre pressure
The kart slides at the rear (it turns too much at the front) Oversteer, too much front end grip (the balance is out) Mount a harder type axle

Mount the rear torsion bar

where applicable, remove the front torsion bar

Tighten the rear bumper bolt and bar

Lower the chassis at the front

Increase pressure of rear tyres

Slightly move the seat backwards (you can have the opposite result if yu move it too much)

Decrease caster
The kart slides too much both front and rear Too little grip Mount a harder type axle

Mount the rear torsion bar

Mount the front torsion bar (where applicable)

Tighten the rear bumper bolt and bar

Raise chassis at the front

Increase pressure of all tyres

Raise seat

SUGGESTED SET UP IN RAIN CONDITIONS


- check front toe out
- raise chassis at the front
- increase caster
- move front track out as much as possible
  (with 100cc chassis use front hubs)
- raise seat (in case of heavy rain, 20-30mm.)
- move rear track in
- mount type N rear axle
- loosen rear bumper and the rear bumper bar
- loosen the middle axle bearing
- loosen or remove the extra seat supports

Suggestion:
In rain conditions it is usually always better to have little rear end grip (sliding chassis) and a lot of front end grip.
